Middle School

Welcome to the Middle School Ministry Page.

The Middle School Ministry at St. Luke's UMC partners with families in the spiritual formation of middle school students. Our goal is to be a safe environment for students to grow in relationship with God and others. We split into three groups after our worship time together to go more in-depth at an age appropriate level, in line with STEPS.

* 5th and 6th grades meet in our chapel and rotate years between Old and New Testament.

* 7th grade meets upstairs in the Cafe for Confirmation

* 8th grade meets in our Prayer Chapel to discuss Spiritual Gifts

At 11AM we offer a music program for our students in Luke's Lodge. Students may choose between:

* JUBILATION CHOIR - You will practice pieces with other middle schoolers under the direction of Amy Thornburg. Jubilation will perform a few time throughout the school year, as well! Click here to sign up!

* MIDDLE SCHOOL WORSHIP TEAM - This program helps our students use their gifts both vocally and instrumentally in order to lead worship each week for our students.

At 9:30AM we offer programming for Middle School students in Luke's Lodge. Each Sunday students experience worship, games, large group teaching and small groups with dedicated leaders.

Confirmation is a major milestone in the faith journey of a student and is about helping students make two commitments: a commitment to following Christ with their whole heart, and the commitment to uphold St. Luke's as a member of the church. All 7th graders go through Confirmation during our Sunday morning programming as a way to deepen the connections they made with their small groups during 5th and 6th grades. Confirmation runs from August through May. We also offer an option for older students.
