An amazing transformation takes place when our families, community and church are lifted up in prayer. If you would like to join others in our community who intercede, weekly, on behalf of the St. Luke’s community who need God’s presence and healing, contact Brandon Hale to receive a weekly list of prayer requests.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21.
Stephen Ministry offers one-on-one for anyone going through a difficult time. All conversations are confidential. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister contact Laura Marine.
Caring For Others
If you would like to crochet or knit newborn baby blankets or donate yarn, please contact Laura Marine.
Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person - the gift of life. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if your blood is separated into its components - red cells, platelets and plasma - which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions. Join us on August 8 to donate blood and save a life! SIGNUP HERE.
If you are interested in driving people who are need of rides to and from doctors appointments and church, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The anchor for the St. Luke's UMC Healing Ministry is the Pilgrimage Healing Process. This "hands-on healing" process was developed by Episcopal priest Tanya Beck and involves resting on a massage table as two trained healing partners open themselves to God’s healing power and go through a series of prayers and movements. Contact Healing Ministries to get involved.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Luke's knits and crochets prayer shawls for those who are in need of prayer. This group meets Tuesdays from 1-3PM in Luke's Lodge. Contact Laura Marine for more information.
Our Tablet Ministry's goal is to provide tablets so people can connect to online services. While Care Ministry continues to navigate new ways to minister to people, there is one word that continues to be expressed: Disconnected. One gentleman was in tears when he said, “Church feels like a distant memory”. Some people can't get to church and have no access to technology. Many live in retirement homes that have WIFI, but they personally do not own a device. Our volunteer technology team will help set up devices, and coach people through using those devices. One device, set up and ready for easy access to our online services, costs $89.00. To donate to a scholarship fund where we can provide for our people in need or to volunteer, contact Kevin Davis. Whatever donation that you are able to make will be very helpful in providing church for those who are not able to be at St. Luke’s.
